Biography

"Life on one page"...

"Prior to choosing a career in theatre 18 years ago, I had successfully forayed into a variety of fields…typical Aquarian: retail regional marketing director; owner of an imported gifts store; president of an advertising and public relations firm; restaurant proprietor; children's textbook illustrator; co-founder & senior vice-president of a golf company; radio talk-show host; published poet; event coordinator; and community relations consultant. Then...by accident, theatre and I found each other.

Now exclusively involved in theatre, I am a thrilled and honored recipient of sixteen performance awards, a Resident Artist at Cygnet Theatre, an Ensemble Member of New Village Arts, a Guest Artist at Lambs Players Theatre, a Resident Artist at North Coast Repertory Theatre, and hold memberships in SAG and AFTRA.

While the "next role" is always my favorite, special memories include: A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC (Mme Armfeldt), and THE MATCHMAKER (Dolly Levi) Cygnet Theatre, SD CA, directed by Sean Murray; BARGAINS, (World Premiere) Old Globe Theatre, SD CA and, THE SNOW BALL (World Premiere) Old Globe Theatre, SD CA & Huntington Theatre, Boston MA, all directed by Jack O'Brien; THE WAVERLY GALLERY (Gladys Green), New Village Arts; THE GINGERBREAD LADY (Evy Meara), Renaissance Theatre; AUNTIE MAME (Title Role), North Coast Repertory Theatre; ON GOLDEN POND (Ethel), Moonlight’s Avo Playhouse; CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF (Big Momma), Sierra Rep Theatre; THE CHERRY ORCHARD (Lyubov), Fritz Theatre; LIGHT UP THE SKY (Francis), PCPA; EDITH STEIN (Prioress), Lambs Players Theatre, and THE BURNING DECK, La Jolla Playhouse.

I'm a proud mother of three grown-up children, who are patiently waiting for their mother to do the same. When not traveling to the next rehearsal or the yet undiscovered country, I spend my spare time embracing the efforts of all the brave and diligent souls, who tirelessly strive to preserve the importance of theatre, in spite of their continued struggle against 'non-profit arts' poverty. Amen.
